Attendance in Court

It is our intention, and your request, that we attend court at all reasonable times, as required or necessitated in your case. Our office is in Boston, Massachusetts. Therefore, if all or a part of your case is pending in a distant court, or in another jurisdiction, we will need reasonable advance notice.

Even if the motion in your case is an emergency, you understand that your lawyer might be trying a case, obligated to be in some other court at the same time or be attending a meeting in connection with his professional or personal obligations.

Also, the weather or airline schedules may not permit us to be in court. In any such event, if your case is in Massachusetts, we will likely be able to have another lawyer associated with our office in order to make sure there is adequate coverage.

If your case is pending in another jurisdiction, by using local counsel, it is our intention to have that lawyer try to delay any hearings until we can be present to act as your counsel. It may be that certain matters that are agreed to or items we have decided are not material to the outcome of the important issues in your case may not justify our travel to court in another jurisdiction. In that event, our local counsel will act after consultation with us.
