- An Overview of What We Do for You (Trial Court Level Only)
- We will try to obtain a reconciliation, if desired, or settlement. If not, we will start or defend (or both) a matrimonial lawsuit on your behalf.
- We will do the work necessary to be properly prepared for and to be ready to discuss settlement.
- Our services may also involve:
- Custody of children.
- Rights to visit with and see your children.
- Support for you, your spouse or your children.
- Expenses for private school or college education of your spouse or children.
- Defense of you against claims for alimony or child support or both.
- Division of the property that you and your spouse own or have a right to.
- If the economic situation is appropriate, attempt to make your spouse pay your attorneys' fees and costs, if you so desire.
- Discovery process: interrogatories, depositions and participation in evaluation of assets and income. Evaluations of assets and income are normally done by experts other than the lawyer. If you choose not to use any experts, it could have a negative effect on your case.
